Abstract
A coming-of-age novel narrated by Rodney Stone, a Sussex boy taken to Regency London by his fashionable uncle Sir Charles Tregellis. Interweaving Rodney’s own maturation with the boxing career of his friend Boy Jim, the novel recreates the world of bare-knuckle prize-fighting and Regency society, alongside a Gothic mystery involving a vanished lord and a haunted house.
