Abstract
A political satire (reported ‘by H. B.’ and illustrated ‘by G. K. C.’) burlesquing Joseph Chamberlain’s 1903 Tariff Reform commission as a mock official inquiry. A parade of self-interested manufacturers, farmers and ministers give absurd evidence, exposing protectionism and imperial preference as a racket dressed in patriotic language.
