Abstract
A polemical essay on ‘the Jewish problem’, in which Belloc argues that the Jews form a permanently alien nation within Europe and that the only stable remedy is open mutual ‘recognition’ and segregation rather than absorption or persecution. Though it repudiates massacre and expulsion, the book rests on and propagates antisemitic premises about Jewish separateness, finance and Bolshevism.
