Abstract

Set at the court of Louis XIV, this historical novel follows Huguenot guardsman Amory de Catinat and his cousin Adele as royal favor turns against Protestants with the Revocation of the Edict of Nantes, driving the Catinat family into exile. Aided by the American frontiersman Amos Green, the refugees flee across the Atlantic into the wilderness of New France.
