Abstract
A one-act play, written for Henry Irving, in which the aged Corporal Gregory Brewster, a veteran who fought at Hougoumont in 1815, is visited by soldiers and a colonel who honour him, while his grand-niece Norah cares for him in his failing final days, his mind wandering between past glory and present frailty.
